[ɪntə'næʃnl 'bæȖkɪȖ fə'sɪlɪtɪz, englisch], Abkürzung IBF, seit 1981 in den USA zugelassene Bankenfreizonen. Die IBF sind rechtlich unselbstständige, vom sonstigen Bankbetrieb (Inlandsgeschäft) zu trennende Einrichtungen inländischer und ausländischer, in den USA tätiger Banken. Sie sind bei ihren Transaktionen von der Mindestreservepflicht und der Einlagenversicherung befreit, steuerlich begünstigt und unterliegen nicht den Regeln der Bankenaufsicht. (Offshorezentren)
